Crisis Core Final Fantasy 7 Reunion Critique: A Remastered Legacy
*STORY SPOILERS*
Crisis Core Final Fantasy 7 Reunion bring to life a classic Square Enix Final Fantasy with upgraded graphics and heavily improved gameplay on current consoles.
But is it enough to encourage new players into experiencing this story before Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth releases Winter 2023?
0:00 Intro
4:10 Story + Characters (Embrace Your Dreams)
10:54 Gameplay (Activating Combat Mode)
17:20 HD Flaws
19:23 Same Characters, Different Sound...
22:01 Conclusion/Outro
There is a very common opinion that the first Final Fantasy you ever played will most likely be one of your all time favourites forever.
Sure it’s not always the case 100% of the time but It is a big reason why games such as FF6 through 10 remain so beloved by a huge chunk of the fanbase to this day, not only are those games filled with nostalgia bringing back nothing but the good memories, but it was also the very first time they got to immerse themselves within a Final Fantasy world, characters and story.
And on December 13th 2022 this idea of replaying, re-experiencing and taking a trip down memory lane became a possibility for many like myself as Crisis Core Final Fantasy 7 Reunion (or just crisis core for short) got released worldwide on all modern consoles, with highly upgraded graphics,re-done voice acting and improved combat…But this time with bills and adult responsibilities which is the reason this video took forever to come out, I apologise.
Despite what some may believe as it was released 10 years after the original, Crisis Core plays a crucial role in the story of Final Fantasy 7 but especially the character of Cloud.
And with the Final Fantasy 7 craze possibly being at an all time high as square is pushing the story in a new direction with the recent remake and Rebirth coming out this Winter (which I can put money on and say will come out early 2024, probably march).
The knowledge of Crisis Core will be far more crucial than it ever has been, which brings us to today.
This video will contain spoilers for the game so if you’ve yet to play it and want to go into it completely blind I highly suggest coming back to this video afterwards, but do drop a like before going because me and you both know you’re not likely to actually come back are you.
As we go on I am interested in hearing what everyone’s opinion on the game is, weather this remaster was your first time playing or if you played the original so make sure to let me know,
But with all that said let’s take a look at Crisis Core Reunion, A living legacy fully remastered.

*NO STORY SPOILERS* After many months I have finally got around to playing FF8 for the first time ever and it was time to make the final "Worth Playing in 2020" video but this one would be a little different. Is Final Fantasy 4 Worth Playing in 2021
Переглядів 20 тис.3 роки тому
*NO STORY SPOILERS* Final Fantasy 4 is one of the biggest classics when it comes to JRPG's and I have finally had the time to play through the Steam version. So this is the first video of the Worth Playing in 2021 series which you can be expecting more of in the coming months. As always thank you for the support and hope you enjoy!
One of the best stories ever told
First 10 seconds earned a hilarious like 😂
As a lifetime fan of FF from the 1st to now, I was underwhelmed with 10. In fact I feel like 13 got criticism for what 10 should have been hit with. Definitely not the best FFs imo either way. 12 was incredible, they should've kept going in that direction imo.
What throws people off is that at the beginning, you don’t challenge Ifrit to progress, you grind AP at the beach until you unlock card mod and then card Glacial Eyes for the Jumbo Cactuar Card. Lol
My 3D teacher worked on the cinematics of FFX and FFIX. Nice BUT weird trip... I prefer FF7. More moody... But it's ok. If it's yours, it's yours...
Think I'll start this game today
I first watched this video back in Spring 2022- when I discovered FF15 and VS13 development history. And finally beating the entire game this past spring 2024, achievements 100%. It’s such lonely yet a beautiful game it is. The music is my favorite among the series. I wasn’t there for VS13, hell- I only know it from the KH3 DLC ending, yet I can give my feelings for what never came. I wish there was more lore, I wish there was more characters, I wish there was more of 15. It saddens me because the lack of dlc with the cancellation of the rest dlc being adapted as a novel, the expansion of EOS and so much more. FF15 will always be my favorite entire
Was a ff9 fan from the moment it released, never understood why people never talked about it, but i have been signing it's praises from the start
I played and finished FF9 back in Highschool and it was my Favourite Final Fantasy Series to date, I just started replaying the game last week and the feeling I got from the game was still the same, sure the battles were slow due to how the ATB works but there was something cozy about this game that really got me. Story was simple enough that I didn't need a whiteboard and strings to piece everything together and the ATE just helped with worldbuilding, specially if you're doing a 100% run (so all ATEs must be viewed) as you find more things you probably never saw from playing the game casually. There's a bunch of mods tht improve the visuals and music along with a voice acting mod (which I honestly never used).
I'm not watching this. I'm still on the ad. I just came to answer the question. Yes. Play it. 2024.
Who cares if its worth playing😂 you wanna play it then play it…Im still playing ff9
The Godfather of Final Fantasy himself said FFIX is the most fantasy-based Final Fantasy game in the entire franchise. It's his favorite. That should say how great this game is.
Final Fantasy VI no es un juego... ES UNA OBRA DE ARTE
Any FF game is worth playing ANYTIME!
I dunno man. Is Casablanca worth watching in 2025?
mutual first kh game i'm amazed
im playing this game for first time rn im loving it soo easy to grind lvls with speed boost auto attack and 9999 i only ever use 9999 cheat when im grinding my lvls
good game...finished remake, just started psp version, i like it more and more, but still at 7th, 8th place for me :)
Just bought Royal edition, its great. 16 was amazeballs.
What a preposterous premise for a video. Yes, it's one of the best games of all time, it's timeless.
This game will always be worth playing even 100 years from now
This is like saying is water still worth drinking in 2022 or any other year for that matter
I miss world maps...😢 When i exited midgar for the first time as a 9 year old boy that nevwr played a JRPG before this blew my mind to see that this city was just a small part of a gigantic world.
There is only the original. There are no spin offs, no prequel or sequel and especially there is no remake
My favorite Final Fantasy game from the post-SNES era. Speeding up the combat is definitely something they should do in a remake. Also, since character customization is limited due to the artistic choice of set classes (one I support), some extra gameplay mechanic like a crafting system would be cool. Some of the most powerful abilities are missable due to the missability of equipment they are learned from. It would be nice to have the option of crafting this gear even if there’s some effort involved
Yes
Damn, but is it worth playing in 2024? Do you think 2025 is okay too?
FFVl was the first ff game I played when I was younger, and I loved it then and still love it! The story is amazing, I love every playable character. I think I'll play it again after I finish ffX. I honestly compare all ff games to it. It's the standard I use for all of them.
A good ending is a must have, otherwise players are left questions and unsatisfaction
Hugely overrated game. Bad + pathetically easy gameplay and sluggish pacing kill it.
The augment system is what keeps me coming back to this version. The only critique I have is when you first meet Rydia after the tragedy she expresses hatred , but in the fight she has a smile on her face???
Final Fantasy 6 will still be worth playing in 3022.
I know I'm 2 years late but if you've got a Steam Deck and thinking of buying the Royal Edition + Ardyn for near £30. Don't... The game has a memory leak that makes it struggle to get 30fps. And it's not a Steam Deck issue because that thing runs Shadow of Mordor at a solid 60-70.
We need a VII like Remake for X and X-2
idk what you mean about open world bad FPS... weird don't remember having this issue
Good video 10/10 However it's; Ti - dus Not Te - dus
Any secret Bosses and weapon in the game? And hope its not to easy
I loved this one for years depsite never finishing it. Then I finally beat it and found out all the character deaths are undone, maming them cheap, pointless, manipulative crap. Even one of the most iconic death scenes in the whole franchise is just another fakeout. Also, the remake is utter trash with shit balancing and a static top down camera in the overworld and a boring fixed camera in battles, which makes it meaningless that it's 3D at all.
This is till my favorite FF title to date. I played it as soon as it released on the PS1. I just fall in love with the characters and the music. It also the first FF title I played from start to finish at that time. (I'm the oldest of 4 children so often I found one of my brothers has gone through my games and just took one of them without telling me. Ah, childhood memories. Haha.) I've played the game several times over the years, and I never get bored of it. I just find myself falling in love with the characters all over again, and I 've seen mu options change on them as I' ve grown older. The music hits me just as hard and I know no FF song that can hit me harder than Melodies of Life. It remains a remarkable game, that deserves so much more love than it goes today.
Even better, it’s worth playing in 2024
ReliablePrez, You're fantastic! Let's be friends and have fun!
i hate everyone hating on ffxv its my favourite game i have thousands of hours in video games in general and roughly 880 in the ff franchise it is my favourite game ive ever played and in regards to the intro im just watching this to hear you views
Only on Fridays
Answer: fuck yes
I wanna get this game on switch but hate long loading times, but is it specifically a switch problem or is it that way on all platforms with the remaster
Yes, though I wouldn't recommend the HD remaster. I've been playing FFX International with PCSX2.
Been playing the same copy since 1997 on the same ps1 since 96 and im still paying it now. I e never gotten bored of it and i dont think i ever will.
correction people in the west didn't like this game lol. and whats funny is this isn't the first time people in the west could handle a novel final fantasy game lololol. japan sold alot of copies of ff XIII
Bro this game is worth playing in 384 BC and 4062 AD and every year in between. Shit is flawless
I first played X in 2002. 20+ years later and it retains a special place in my heart. FFX is gaming perfection and was ahead of its time in so many ways. The world of Spira never lets you go. 10/10
